How we protect
your project data.
Beam connects contractors and their clients, so keeping each project private and tamper-proof is core to the product. Here's a plain-language overview of the controls we have in place.
Authentication & access
Every account signs in through our managed authentication system. Contractors and clients only ever see the projects they belong to — access is scoped to the signed-in user, never shared.
Row-level data protection
Project data (messages, milestones, documents, change orders, and vision boards) is protected by row-level security rules in the database. These rules are enforced on the server for every request, so users cannot read or modify data outside their own projects.
Private file storage
Uploaded photos, documents, and inspiration images are stored in private buckets. Files are served through short-lived, access-checked links rather than public URLs.
Encryption in transit
All traffic between your browser and Beam is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS so data cannot be read in transit.
Change-order integrity
When a client responds to a change order or makes a selection, they can only update the approval decision — they cannot alter the underlying scope, pricing, or contractor-authored details.
Cookies & analytics
Beam uses only the cookies required to keep you signed in and operate the app. We do not embed third-party tracking pixels in your project conversations.
Shared responsibility
Beam secures the platform — authentication, access rules, private storage, and encrypted connections. Account holders are responsible for keeping their sign-in credentials private, inviting only the right people to each project, and reviewing what they share. Security is strongest when both sides do their part.
